Precautions for using belt presses

When selecting a belt filter press model, the following aspects should be considered in detail:
Filter Belt of the Belt Filter Press: First, consider whether the material is ultra-high molecular weight polyester mesh or nylon mesh. Generally, ultra-high molecular weight polyester mesh is preferred. It should have high tensile strength, resistance to flexing, resistance to acids and alkalis, and resistance to temperature changes. Additionally, consider the specific properties of the sludge to select an appropriate weave pattern that ensures good water permeability, effective interception of sludge particles, ease of cleaning, easy removal of the filter cake, corrosion resistance, high tensile strength at the splice, and a long service life.
Pressure Filter Roller Deviation Adjustment System: Generally, this is completed through pneumatic devices. Therefore, consider the size and stability of the cylinder. Also, check for a complete deviation adjustment box system, including a deviation sensing device, automatic deviation correction device, and alarm device.
Pressure Filter Rollers and Drive Rollers: Check if the seamless pipe is wrapped with high-quality natural rubber or nitrile rubber that is resistant to acid, alkali corrosion, and wear. If not wrapped with rubber, the filter belt is prone to damage.
Frame of the Belt Filter Press: First, consider whether it is made of square tubes or channel steel. Generally, for stability, avoid equipment with channel steel frames. Then, consider the thickness of the square tubes. Many manufacturers use 3mm or 4mm thick tubes to save material, which is not advisable. When selecting, opt for equipment made with 5mm or 6mm thick square tubes. Finally, check the surface anti-corrosion treatment. The treatment that involves galvanizing followed by a heavy-duty anti-corrosion fluorocarbon paint finish is preferable.
Filter Belt Tensioning System: This is also generally controlled by a pneumatic system. Therefore, consider the size and stability of the cylinder. Also, check for a complete deviation adjustment box system, including a deviation sensing device, automatic deviation correction device, and alarm device. The tension of the filter belt is generally controlled within 0.3-0.7 MPa, with a common value of 0.5 MPa.
Bearings of the Belt Filter Press: There are many domestic manufacturers of bearings, but they tend to wear out easily, usually failing within about six months. To ensure the bearings last for two to three years, when purchasing a belt filter press, check if the manufacturer uses double-row cylindrical roller bearings with high load-bearing capacity and complete waterproof and dustproof sealing through the bearing housing.
Belt Speed Control: Different types of sludge require different belt speeds. For any specific type of sludge, there is an optimal belt speed control range. Within this range, the dewatering system can ensure a certain processing capacity and produce high-quality filter cakes.
Belt filter presses are less affected by fluctuations in sludge load and have the characteristics of large output, low moisture content, stable operation, relatively simple management and control, and low requirements for the quality of operating personnel.
